Mill Cottage Bed and Breakfast

We are a small family run Bed and Breakfast with two rooms (one en-suite) and plentiful parking.

Mill Cottage is 2 miles from the village of Dacre and 3 miles from Lake Ullswater, ideally situated for Walking, Cycling and Horse-Riding. Although we are right on the Coast to Coast, our surroundings are very quiet. The fastest vehicles we have on our lane are the Coast to Coast cyclers!

Dacre and Penruddock (2 miles) both have good traditional pubs (the Herdwick Inn and the Horse and Farrier) offering extensive menus.

Our cottage is set on an island in Dacre Beck, which runs through fields of sheep. We have views of the Lakeland hills and Mountains all around, and wild ducks, badgers and red squirrels visit us regularly. There are ponies in our fields who love to be patted and petted so there are many animals to become friends with.

We can also accommodate up to five equine guests, either looked after by us or their human owners! Horse owners do not have to stay as B&B guests; you can choose to camp or sleep in your lorry for the duration of your stay. There is ample under cover storage for bicycles.
